Clonoe’s recent good run of form continued at home today with a deserved win over Moortown on a score line of 1-14 to 2-6. However it was the visitors who made the best start with an early Pauric Hagan goal. Clonoe responded strongly and within two minutes had hit the net themselves when Colm Donnelly scored a three pointer. The Lough shore lads netted again before the break through Sean Mitchell but points from David Hanna and county minor Danny Mc Nulty made sure the O’Rahilly’s led by three points at the break 1-8 to 2-2. The home side managed to maintain their control of the game in an even second half where Michael Hagan landed three points for Moortown but Patrick Doris responded in kind for the home side as the game ended in a five point win for Clonoe.
This result moves Clonoe onto fourteen points and into third position in the table a point above both Errigal Ciaran and Ardboe.
