Clonoe Defeat Rock In Intermediate Championship

League champions Clonoe became the first side into the Quarter finals of the Intermediate Championship but not before they were given a fright by Rock at Stewartstown on Wednesday evening.
Daryl Magee, Connor McAliskey, Liam Nugent and Conor McGarrity were among the points for their respective teams before Nugent blasted home a brilliant 19th minute goal to leave them four in front. Ryan McCabe and Paul Coney responded with Clonoe points before an injury time McAliskey penalty left the Rahillys 1-4 to 1-3 in front at the break.
Ryan McCabe and McAliskey increased that advantage on the restart before Aidan McGarritty replied for Rock. Coney got his second of the contest and when McAliskey made no mistake from the spot again in the 51st minute there was no way back for Rock. Substitute Dwayne Quinn weighed in with a trio of points as it finished 2-11 to 1-6.
