Clonoe Remain On Course For Double

A very impressive team display ensured Clonoe made it through to the last four of the Connolly’s Of Moy Intermediate Championship defeating Aghyaran 1-14 to 1-6 on Saturday afternoon at Loughmacrory.
Played in difficulty weather conditions the O’Rahillys played wind assisted in the first half and reached the break leading 0-6 to 0-2 after points from Patrick Doris, Daniel Mc Nulty, Paul Coney, Ryan Mc Cabe and Daryll Magee while Ronan and Ethan Mc Hugh responded for the north Tyrone side.
Clonoe took to the field for the second half like they meant business with a first point of the day from Conor Mc Aliskey and the sides swapped points to leave it 0-8 to 0-4 ten minutes into the second half. The league champions took over from then until the final whistle as they proved far too hungry and committed for their opponents.
A Ronan Corey goal put them seven clear and with second half sub Fintan Mc Clure all but unplayable they coasted to a comfortable 1-14 to 1-6 win. Once again there was a spread oof scorers with Mc Clure, Mc Aliskey, Mc Nulty and Darragh Mc Grath on target with points while Eoghan Mc Hugh bagged the Aghyaran goal.
