CLUB| Castlederg Crowned D3 Champions

In a dramatic last day of the regular season in division three Castlederg defeated Glenelly to lift the league title as Tattyreagh lost away to Owen Roes when a point would have secured them the silverware.
The Derg produced a determined team display with Mark Corry’s first half penalty helping them reach the break 1-6 to 0-4 ahead. Aidan Lynch, Sean Harper and Stefan Gallen all landed Derg points in the first half while Ronan O’Kane and Colm Hicks carried the scoring threat for their North Tyrone rivals.
The game remained competitive throughout and although Ronan Kirk’s goal for Glenelly caused a few anxious moments for the home side further points from Paudraig Keyes, Corry and Caolan Harvey sealed the win that ultimately secured the Division Three league title and promotion for 2017.
Up at Glenmornan James Darcy led the way in the scoring stakes for the St.Patricks with Conor O’Neill and Ronan McNulty getting the Owen Roes goals and Cathal McShane contributing three points. Barry Gormley kicked nine points with Cormac Rodgers and Caolan Gormley getting goals as Drumquin signed off their campaign with a home win over Killeeshil. Shane Mallon hit four points for the St.Marys with Pascal Donaghy getting a brace.
