Derrytresk Are Relegated

Derrytresk will be playing Junior football again next season after they lost out in the winner takes all relegation playoff away to Aghaloo on Sunday afternoon.  With the wind at their backs the hosts enjoyed a great start with midfielders Enda McGarrity and Jody McGlone both scoring goals.  The rest of the half though belonged to Derrytresk with Liam Slater, Niall Gavin and Ronan O’Neill all finding the net as they turned things around to lead 3-4 to 2-1 at the break.

Derrytresk tagged on two points on the restart and looked to be out of sight until Aghaloo staged a brilliant comeback. McGlone got a second goal with Niall McElroy also finding the net and Ruairi McGlone and McElroy added points as it finished 4-6 to 3-8. Aghaloo now face Owen Roes with a place in Intermediate football for 2017 the prize at stake.
