It is now exactly 60 years since Tyrone won its first Ulster Senior title in 1956. 13 Ulster and 3 All Ireland senior titles have followed in the intervening years, and during that time every playing position has been manned by so many legendary figures and household names.

Have you ever wondered what a Tyrone team would look like if it combined all the greatest talents from across those 60 years?  Drumragh Sarsfields will launch a ‘Tyrone Dreamteam’ competition at their clubrooms in Clanabogan tomorrow (Thursday April 28) at 8pm.  which allows contestants to select their greatest ever Tyrone team, using the 6 nominees which are provided for each position.

The actual Dreamteam has already been selected by an independent external panel of experts, and has been lodged in a sealed envelope with Drumragh’s Club President, Monsignor Joseph Donnelly. The entry which matches, or comes nearest to, that selection will win £1,000, and all contestants will be entered in a draw for a set of O’Neill’s jerseys for their club.

So what about a forward line which features Frank McGuigan, Peter Canavan, Iggy Jones and Frankie Donnelly? Or a defence built around the Devlin brothers, Conor Gormley and Ryan McMenamin? Or a midfield combination of Jody O’Neill, Eugene McKenna, Sean Cavanagh or Plunkett Donaghy? It’s only when you sit down and think about all the possible contenders that you begin to realise what an extraordinary wealth of talent Tyrone has produced during those 60 years.

Every spectator has opinions on team selections; many have had the task of picking teams at club level, far fewer still have had that privilege at county level. Now everyone has the opportunity to have their say in this historic process, and voice their opinion on who should occupy the coveted 15 positions on their Dreamteam.

You can enter by completing the special Entry Form which is widely available from all Drumragh members, or by going online at www.Tyronedreamteam.com. Follow the competition on Facebook atwww.facebook.co/tyronedreamteam and on Twitter at Drumragh Sarsfields. The entry fee is £10.00 and the team will be revealed on Saturday 16th July.

The official launch will be held at the Drumragh Clubrooms in Clanabogan at 8pm on Thursday April 28 and will feature a guest panel discussion which will be broadcast live by Teamtalkmag.com. Everyone is invited to attend.
