Killyclogher are back in the County final again after coming through a hard fought encounter with Dromore at Healy Park on Friday evening. The St.Marys edged the verdict 1-9 to 0-11 and will now hope to go one better than twelve months ago.

The St.Marys had the wind at their backs in the first half and at one stage they held a 0-6 to 0-3 lead with Mark Bradley proving unerring from frees and Conall McCann and Feargal Meenagh also on target. Sean O’Neill and Niall Sludden had earlier scored for the St.Dympnas and a few well taken Ruairi Sludden points left it 0-6 each at the break.

Eight minutes into the second half the crucial score of the game arrived when the superb Emmett McFadden finished a sweeping move to the net. Play became stop start but Meenagh’s second score of the game put the winners four clear.

It took Dromore seventeen minutes to open their second half account from a Ruairi Sludden free but back came Killyclogher with impressive teenager Nathan Donnelly on target. Sean McDonnell then scored a Captain’s point for the St.Dympnas only for a Bradley free to leave four between them with just five minutes of normal time left to play.

Dromore though showed their fighting spirit with Eoin McCusker fisting a point and Sludden knocking over another free. Nine additional minutes were signalled but thirteen were played and with the last kick of the game Sludden drove a free over the bar as Killyclogher held on.
