CLUB | Philip Toner Responds to Well Wishers

Coalisland man Philip Toner’s season came to a cruel end in Healy Park on Sunday afternoon when he sustained a serious injury in the first half. On Tuesday he took to Facebook to thank those that passed on their best wishes. It was a touch of class from one of the best club players in the county.
Never have I been as gutted when leaving the field of play on Sunday..we all as players work our asses off to get to represent our clubs on county final day..unfortunately for me it was cut short!! The GAA has something special about it..this last few days iv received had a lot off help an I’d like to thank all the people that have rang me,sent me cards/txt msgs/snaps an even called to the house in the past few days to wish me well in my recovery!!..much appreciated!! The long way back to recovery starts for me now..With this injury I’m gunna require quite abit off surgery as iv done both cruciate ligaments and abit of other damage to the knee!!..Tho as the old sayin goes..what doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger!!! #blues
