COALISLAND LEFT TO RUE SECOND HALF COLLAPSE.
Glenullin 0-17 Coalisland 2-10

Coalisland will look back at this one and wonder just how they managed to throw away a nine point lead and miss out on an Ulster Senior League title.

The Fianna started well and were 0-4 to no score up after five minutes with their points coming from Stephen Mc Nally (2), Dermot Thornton and Plunkett Kane. A goal from Mc Nally put the Tyrone lads 1-6 to 0-3 in front before Thornton stretched his team’s lead further when he converted a penalty following a foul on Cathaoir Quinn.

Glenullin continued to battle hard however with scores from Paddy Bradley and Dermott O’Kane ensuring they reached the break trailing by six but still in the game.

Half time score Coalisland 2-8, Glenullin 0-8.

The start of the second half saw Cormac O’Hagan convert an early free for The Fianna but from then on it was all Glenullin. The Derry side dominated the remainder of the half and outscored a disappointing Coalisland team in the second half by 0-9 to 0-2.
