CNG made it an under fourteen double after they came from four points behind at the break in their championship final to defeat a talented Brackaville side 3-11 to 3-4. Played before a large and vociferous crowd at Greencastle the East Tyrone side played wind assisted and made good use of the elements in the first half as the Roes found the net three times during a very entertaining opening half hour.

Brackaville were the better side in the first half and created a number of excellent chances but they were greatly indebted to their goalkeeper Fionn Mc Grath who made a number of superb stops from one on one situations against the CNG forwards. Their forwards Jayden Lawerence, Joseph Gillis and Sean Talbot caused all sorts of problems for CNG in the first half while midfielders Jack O’Donnell and Colm Morgan maintained a steady supply of good quality ball to their forward unit.

Shane Talbot, Joseph Gillis and Colm Morgan each found the net for the Roes in a pulsating opening half hour that saw Brackaville reach the break leading 3-3 to 1-5. However CNG showed enough in the first half to suggest the outcome was far from decided. Points from Charlie Donaghy, Tiernan Donaghey and player of the match Shay O’Neill kept them in the game.

The second half began with a point from Jack Dooher followed shortly after by a fine score from the boot of Shay O’Neill. Brackaville found themselves under increased pressure but they did create a number of chances that could have stretched their lead. `

O’Neill and Dooher added points to the CNG total before Caoilte Mianain put hit the net for his team to put them ahead with less than ten minutes remaining. Charlie Donaghy and Jack Dooher added points before Shay O’Neill rounded off a superb individual display with a third goal to seal the win and complete the double.
