Coalisland Through In Under Sixteen Championship.
Saturday 18.08.2012
Coalisland and Pomeroy played out an entertaining game in the under sixteen championship quarter final before the Fianna emerged three point winners on a score line of 2-9 to 1-9. It completes a rather disappointing twenty four hours for the Plunketts following the senior team’s exit from the intermediate championship on Friday night.
Gabhan Goodfellow hit the net for his side with Aidan Woods top scoring with five points while Denver Wallace, M Rafferty and R Loughran were also on target for Pomeroy. The losers had strong performers in Ruairi Begley, Jack Devlin, S Doran and M Slane in goals.
Coalisland will be delighted with their win and their overall display. Eoghain Rankin and Sean Corr found the net for the Fianna and among their point scorers were Sean Corr, Cormac O’Hagan, Tiernan Duffy, Peter Herron, Darragh Mc Cann, Shea Oliver and Rhys Teague. While it was a good all round team display from the winners Dylan Toner, Conal Lyons and Eoghan Hampsie in defence merited special mention while others to impress were Eoghan Rankin, Gerard Quinn, Cormac O’Hagan and Sean Corr.
