Five football and one hurling Colleges Allstar awards for Tyrone at today’s presentation ceremony in Belfast. For John Mc Cullagh, Harry Og Conlon and Richard Donnelly it is a nice way to end the year following their successes earlier in the year with the Tyrone minors and of course for young Donnelly a nice way to celebrate his school winning the Mc Cormick Cup last week. The Trillick youngster has been in outstanding form all year and played a key role in helping his side defeat a much fancied Dungannon team. The three county players were joined as All Star winners by Ryan Mayse of Newtownstewart and Conal Mc Nulty of Eglish. All five can now turn their thoughts to what matters most for these young footballers and the quarter finals of the Mac Rory Cup.
In addition to the football selections there was further cause for celebration in Dungannon when hurler Damien Casey was chosen as wing half forward on the All Star team. This is only the second hurling All Star award won by a student from St. Patrick’s College and the dual star will be delighted to add this award to his growing list of honours.
