Omagh CBS 1-16 Patrician Carrickmacross 2-8

An impressive first thirty minutes from Omagh CBS proved decisive in Friday’s clash with Patrician Carrickmacross in the Danske Bank MacRory Cup.

The Tyrone college established a 0-11 to 0-2 lead at the break with Oisin Donnelly (4), Ryan McCusker (2) and Peadar Mullan (2) on target.

Carrickmacross improved after the break and had Omagh on the back foot following a 35^th minute goal from Andrew Woods that reduced the gap to five points.

Both sides added to their respective totals before a shot from Omagh defender Damian McGuigan finished in the bottom corner of the net.

Credit though to the lads from Patrician who responded to that set back in a positive manner. Points from Sean McEneaney and Liam óg Murray and an Eddie Walsh penalty had the gap down to five points once more.

A great save from Brothers goalkeeper Brendan Gallagher denied the Monaghan lads a goal and further salt was rubbed into the wounds when Omagh moved the ball up-field for Oisin Donnelly to score and seal the win,.
