Tyrone 4-16 Wexford 1-6

Tyrone eased their way into the semi Finals of the All Irland minor Tier 2 Paul McGirr Cup when they had a comprehensive victory over Wexford at Garvaghey on Monday evening.

It was a game that the Red Hands were always in control off and they were well on their way to victory by the break when holding a 1-6 to 0-1 lead. Sean Corry, Peter Colton, Darragh Devlin and Eoin Mansell had points with Eoin Long scoring the goal, Odhran Morris with Wexford’s only score of the first half from a free.

Two minutes into the second half a surging run from Davin McKeown saw him find Devlin who palmed to the net but Wexford responded with points from Morris and Abram O’Neill. Tyrone though were always on top with Peter McGoldrick converting a number of frees with Long also on target. Substitute Mark Kennedy scored a brace of goals and while Tom Funge found the net at the other end of the field it was only a consolation score.
