This game was over as a contest in the first quarter as Tyrone maintained their drive for a place in the division two league final with a more than a comfortable win over Wexford at Augher. In the end 26 points seperated the teams with all but one forward getting on the scoresheet and Tyrone dominating from the off.

Tyrone led by fourteen points at half time after an early Murphy free for the visitors gave them some hope  but as Tyrone upped the tempo the Leinster side had no answers and were a well beaten side long before the end.

The Wexford keeper Leanne Delany made a handful of first half saves as the home side could easily have doubled their lead with Emma Brennan, Niamh O’Neill, Grainne Rafferty and Emma Brennan all going close for early goals.

Rafferty found the net within ten minutes after tidy play on the left as Brennan and Chloe Mc Caffrey rattled over 0-4 each in a powerhouse opening half. They defended well with Slaine Mc Carroll in for the injured Niamh Mc Girr and Aoibheann Mc Hugh coming on in the midfield for the injured Neamh Woods. At no stage in a one sided never contest did Wexford threaten.

Shortly after the break Niamh O’Neill hit 2-1 to ease Tyrone further ahead while Tyrone’s management ran the bench with eleven changes to finish the game. The Red Hands kept the scoreboard ticking over, Rafferty, the impressive Emma Jane Gervin, O’Neill and Brennan added points with Caitlan Kelly lashing home a fourth goal in the latter stages while Wexford added just two second half points.

This was an excellent home win but Tyrone need wins over Cavan and Monaghan and hope other results go their way if they are to progress to the decider. A good outing from Gerry Moanes side though, six different scorers and a solid display with players all getting key game time.
