I know it is not everybody’s favourite sport, The Compromise Rules Series, but team manager Anthony Tohill has been running trials in an attempt to draw up a panel of thirty which will be further reduced to twenty three. The two Kerry exiles playing in Australia will travel shortly to join up with the rest of the Irish squad so competition for places among those still training will be intense.
There are several Tyrone players involved in the training squad and hopefully they will enjoy the experience. The big worry of course for club managers in such situations is that players can pick up injuries that might cause them to miss important club fixtures. At this stage Omagh St. Endas have the two Mc Mahon brothers participating in the trials and Paddy Crozier will be keeping his fingers crossed that the lads come through the trials and the test series unscathed and injury free.
