Tyrone got their promotion campaign back on track with a comprehensive twelve point win over Clare at Spring like Clanabogan Park. Tyrone had slipped to fifth in the table but on the back of this performance they have given themselves a real chance of a semi-final berth.
Niamh O’Dea had given the visitors an early lead and it was nip and tuck throughout the opening half although Tyrone at times were wasteful. They hit the crossbar and and also recorded several wides during the opening half.

With four minutes to go Clare led 1-4 to 0-4 Emma Jane Gervin 0-2, Maria Canavan and Grainne Rafferty with the Tyrone scores, but there was a strong finish to the half for the Red Hands.
Chloe Mc Caffrey’s effort rattled off the crossbar and fell to goalkeeper Talty but under pressure from Rafferty she coughed up the ball and Niamh Hughes pounced to roll the ball to the net. Rafferty herself got on the end of a Canavan pass to score a second goal and she added 0-2 as Tyrone led 2-6 to 1-4 at the break.
The second half belonged to Tyrone. Mc Caffrey turned in an early goal, Canavan, Hughes and Emma Hegarty tagged on points with Rafferty and Mc Caffrey slotting home further goals. Clare’s response was just 0-3 as Tyrone eased through the gears, emptied the bench and added a sixth goal through Slaine Mc Carroll.
