Cookstown begin their journey to what they hope will be a second Ulster Intermediate title when they take on Armagh kingpins Killeavy at the Morgan Athletic Grounds on Sunday afternoon. As was the case a few years ago the Father Rocks have won the league and championship double in Tyrone and no doubt they would love to emulate that never to be forgotten day when they lifted the All Ireland title after climbing the steps of the Hogan Stand at Croke Park.

Before they can think of that however they have to overcome the Armagh champions whose leading light is former footballer of the year Stevie McDonnell. Cookstown defeated Eskra at the second time of asking in the recent Tyrone championship final and it’s that display rather than the one that they produced in the drawn game that they will be looked for here. Cookstown will look for big displays from the likes of Stephen Monaghan, Martin Murray and Ryan Pickering in defence, Conor Mullan and Conor O’Hare in midfield and Owen Mulligan, Shea McGarrity and James McGahan in attack.
