Cookstown Fr Rock’s progressed to the quarter final of the 2017 Donnelly Vauxhall Tyrone Intermediate Championship follow a one point victory over Moortown in Edendork this afternoon. All that despite not registering a single point in the second half.

The Fr Rock’s had a three point lead at the break thanks to an Oisin McNia goal seconds from the half time whistle. Cookstown got off to a bright start leading 0-4 to 0-0 inside the opening quarter thanks to three frees from John Gilmore and another from play from the big Fr Rock’s man.

Moortown struck back with a goal from Ryan Kelly and points from Tony Quinn but they were unable to get the scores needed after the break to progress past the Fr Rock’s men. Both sides finished short of their starting 15 after referee Mickey McCann issued straight red cards to Ryan Pickering, Raymond Mulgrew and Lee Kelly.

Final Score – Cookstown 1-6 Moortown 1-5
