Two games were scheduled for Division Three of the ACL on Monday night but only the Cookstown v CNG match took place. The Fr Rocks are currently playing some high scoring, entertaining football and they continued in that fashion again on Monday night. Ten separate scorers over the hour as well as four goals ensured Cookstown took another two points with a 4-19 to 2-11 win that moved them into third place on the table level on points with Derrytresk but with a better scoring return.
After a dominant first half Cookstown were all but out of side as they reached the break leading 2-10 to 0-4. Peter Mc Gurk (1-6) top scored for the winners while Matthew Carberry (1-2), Barry Potter (0-4), Ryan Pickering (1-1) and Conor O’Hare (1-0) all contributed handsomely to their side’s tally. Once again Shea Browne led the line for CNG with 0-7 while Ciaran Kerlin (1-1) and Dan Houston (1-0) both found the net for the north Tyrone lads.
