County Convention Takes Place In Donaghmore

The Tyrone County Convention takes place tomorrow Sunday 11th in Donaghmore with a 2:00pm starting time. It is unlikely to produce many fireworks or major changes but there are several posts which look like being keenly contested. The one report that is sure to cause debate and discussion is the Treasurer’s Report. During difficult economic circumstances revenue for the 2011 season is down and outgoing Cisteoir Michael Harvey is calling on those responsible for drawing up the club championship schedule to spread the fixtures across a wider time span. The new arrangements for club matches this year may not have met with universal approval but at least there was consistency of games. The championship of course had a much later starting date and the County Treasurer feels this has affected the income from these games. We will hope to bring you the details of the make up of the new committee at the conclusion of the convention tomorrow evening.
