Injury Worries For Red Hands
Sunday 08.01.2017
While Tyrone may have slipped to a disappointing opening day defeat at Cavan in the McKenna Cup the most worrying thing from Mickey Harte’s point of view is the injuries that they picked up at Kingspan Breffni Park.
Ardboe’s Michael Cassidy had began the game well in the half back line but with only a quarter of an hour gone he sustained a hamstring injury and had to be replaced by Rory Brennan. The Trillick man though last just over a quarter of an hour when he damaged his shoulder. In the second half a miserable afternoon on the injury front continued when Connor McAliskey was stretchered off after picking up a knee injury.
All three players are in a race against time to be ready for the National League opener with Roscommon and that would be the best case scenario. If Brennan and McAliskey’s injuries prove to be serious then it could well have a greater impact on Tyrone’s season ahead. We will keep you updated when we hear the latest news.
