Even though Tyrone minors were facing Monaghan on Saturday several league games took place across the divisions. There were two further north Tyrone derbies on Friday night when Dregish defeated Castlederg and Glenelly and Drumquin played out a high scoring draw.

The game between the Derg and Dregish was keenly contested and close before Dregish managed to edge it 1-13 to 1-11. The Pearse Ogs had been held to a draw by Drumquin on Wednesday evening after conceding two injury time points but held on this time out to take the win against their biggest rivals. Pete Mc Crossan [1-1], Mark Catterson [0-4] and Aidan O’Kane [0-3] were their top scorers on the night.

The match between Drumquin and Glenelly had a very similar score line finishing 1-13 apiece. Seamus Harkin once again top scored for his team with 0-9 while Barry  Mc Connell’s goal and a point made a vital contribution to the result. Coistin Mallon bagged Dumquin’s goal in an exciting second half while Barry Gormley [0-4] and Barry Glackin [0-3] were responsible for the majority of their team’s scores.

Other North Tyrone side Aghyaran went goal crazy against Edendork on Saturday bagging a handful in a 5-08 to 1-14 win. Edendork scored the first major of the afternoon inside five minutes through Gervin but by half time Aghyaran had opened up a 4-4 to 1-6 lead. Their first half goals came from Michael Anderson, Aidan Connolly, Caolan Dolan and Ronan Mc Hugh. Edendork improved after the break hitting eight points but another Aidan Connolly goal in the fiftieth minute ensured Aghyaran took the win.
