Eglish St Patrick’s man Matthew McGleenan is the new Cavan senior football manager tonight following ratification from the Cavan county board. McGleenan led Scotstown to back to back Monaghan titles in recent seasons and was also part of the management team that recorded a MacRory Cup title win with St Patrick’s Grammar in Armagh. McGleenan was on a three man shortlist along with Jack Sheedy and Seamus McEnaney but was the number one choice of the committee tasked with finding Terry Hyland’s successor.
