Tyrone minors bowed out of the championship at the first hurdle when they lost to Derry on a 1-15 to 0-10 score line at Celtic Park on Sunday afternoon. Derry led 0-8 to 0-7 at the break with Larry Kielt, Oisin McWilliams and Feargal Higgins among their points, Daniel Kerr, Matthew McGleenan, Emmet McNabb and Tomas Carney on target for the Red Hands.

In the first attack of the second half Tyrone midfielder James Devlin levelled matters before Higgins and Carney exchanged points. Tyrone were to add just another Kerr point to their total however as Derry assumed control. Kielt and substitute duo Lorcan McWilliams and Seamus Higgins tagged on points before corner back Conor McCluskey scored the only goal of the game with the last kick.
