COUNTY | Senior Posts Should Be Confirmed on Tuesday Night

The Tyrone County Committee will meet in Garvaghey on Tuesday night in order to confirm the management positions of the various county teams ahead of the 2016 season. It’s expected that club delegates will press for Mickey Harte’s tenure in charge of the county senior side to be extended for another two or three year term. Feargal Logan, Peter Canavan and Brian Dooher’s role with the Tyrone Under 21 side are also expected to be ratified. With no nominations through for the Tyrone minor post the likelihood is that this position will go out to the clubs in order to seek new nominations.
To date there has been no confirmation either way whether or not the current Tyrone hurling senior manager Mattie Lennon will stay on. The Armagh native has led Tyrone to successive league titles and and Nicky Rackard Cup win in recent times. It would be hoped by many within Tyrone hurling that he would be persuaded to oversee the current upward trend in results for at least another couple of seasons.
