The 2016 inter county football season swings into action this Sunday with Tyrone playing host to Queen’s University Belfast in the opening round of the Bank of Ireland Dr McKenna Cup.  Tyrone manager Mickey Harte is likely to start a relatively inexperienced side against a student side which will feature Martin Clarke from Down.  Tyrone will be without the services of Conal McCann and Conor Meyler who have been released from the squad to play with St Mary’s.  Pomeroy man Ciaran McGeary will feature for Tyrone as will Richard Donnelly who could have been used by UUJ.  Trillick team mate Rory Brennan however will tog out for Jordanstown in the competition.

Elsewhere in Section A Derry take on Antrim, while in Section B St Mary’s take on Fermanagh in Enniskillen and in Section C UUJ play Monaghan in Clones.

The Tyrone v Queen’s Dr McKenna Cup game is on Sunday 3rd January at 2pm and it will be LIVE on Teamtalk Radio from 1:50pm in association with O2 Enniskillen.
