Simon Garrity kicked the equaliser as reigning champions Trillick shared the spoils with Errigal Ciaran in a repeat of last season’s County final. The visitors shaded the first half thanks to a Tiarnan Colhoun goal and points from Odhran Robinson and Mark Kavanagh, Garrity with the Trillick major. James Garrity, Daniel Donnelly and Colm Garrity shared scores with Robinson, Tommy Canavan and Eoin Kelly as it ended all square.

Goals won the day for Pomeroy as they secured a good win away to Loughmacrory. Hugh McNamee, Hugh J Cunningham, Ryan Begley and Aidy Coyle all found the net for the Plunketts on a night when Stevie Grimes and Pauraic Meenagh featured among the points for the St.Theresas.

Omagh were another side who won on their travels on the opening night when they took the spoils from their trip to O’Neill Park to play Dungannon. An early second half goal from Ronan O’Neill proved to be the decisive score, the former Tyrone attacker also among the points. Jason McAnulla, Thomas Haigney, Conor O’Donnell and Oisin Miller all had Omagh points with Paul Donaghy top scoring for the Clarkes and Conor McKee, Ben Gormley and James Quinn on target as well.
