The final round of games in Division 2 took place on Sunday afternoon and with the title already decided the only thing at stake was teams trying to stay out of the bottom three. The picture is now clear with Aghaloo finishing bottom (they will be relegated unless they in the championship) while Clogher will host Kildress in the playoff with the losers making the drop (again unless they win the championship)

 

Aghaloo won away at Clogher but it proved to be in vain. Darren McAnespie got their goal and a few points with Conor Quinn, Niall McElroy and Conor Mullan also on target. Ciaran Bogue, Ryan McCaughey, Barry McKenna and Jamie Callaghan were among the points for the Eire Ogs.

 

Kildress won away to Greencastle but still ended up second from bottom. Shea Quinn, Tiernan McNally and Corey Holland got the goals for the Wolfe Tones with Shea Treacy and Cormac Loughran featuring among their points. MJ McGlnchey, David Morris, Joe Warnock and Tieran Teague were among the Greencastle marksmen.

 

Gortin came from behind at halftime to beat Derrylaughan with the outstanding Liam Og Mossey scoring all but two of their tally. Ultan McConnell and Daire McSwiggan were their other scorers while Liam Gervin got the Kevin Barrys goal and Mark Robinson, Andrew Devln and James Donnelly all supplied points.

 

Drumquin got the win that they needed to escape the relegation playoffs when they edged the verdict at home to Rock. Oisin Gormley top scored for the Wolfe Tones with Sean McDonagh, Eoin Skelton and Cormac Rodgers all on target as well. Conor McGarrity, Martin Ward, Aidan McGarrity and Shane Murphy all registered for Rock.

 

Killeeshil had more at stake at home to the newly crowned league champions Naomh Eoghan and it showed throughout the game. Luke Donnelly bagged a hattrick of goals for the winners with Eoghan O’Neill (2) and Michael O’NMeill both finding the net as well and Paul O’Neill contributing a few points. The visitors lost their perfect record but no doubt they weren’t too unduly worried about that on a day when Michael Coreless got their goal with points coming from Conor Langan, Conall McConomy and Aidan McSorley.

 

Goals proved key as Pomeroy took the spoils from their trip to Beragh. Peter McGoldrick found the net twice with Kieran McGeary also raising a green flag while Marty Coyle and Ronan Duffin were among their points. Ouran Treacy got the Red Knights goal as well as a few points with Mattie McSorley, Darragh McKenna and Jonathan Owens also on target as their second half comeback just came up short.

 

Owen Roes had the minimum to spare away to Aghyaran on an afternoon when neither side had anything at stake. Once again Cathal McShane was in blistering form for the visitors with their goal as well as over half their points with Ryan McAleer, Adam Coyle and Peter Kirk all registering as well. Eoghan McHugh was in great form for the St.Davogs as well with his haul including a brace of goals with Peter Goan getting their other major and Cormac McHugh and Barry McMenamin also on target.
