Clogher picked up the first points of the weekend in division two when they saw off the challenge of Gortin on Friday night. Ryan McCaughey was in fine form for the Eire Ogs with 1-4 to his name while Marc McConnell (4), Ciaran Bogue (5) and Rory McElroy (3) all weighing in with points as well.
There may have been nothing at stake as Aghaloo played host to Aghyaran but it gave two of the leading marksmen in this division an opportunity to flex their muscles and they certainly did just that. Niall McElroy scored 4-2 for the hosts but that total was surpassed by St.Davogs sharpshooter Ronan McHugh who finished with a hugely impressive 2-10 to his name. Conor Mullen scored 1-7 for the home side as well with Niall Henderson claiming four points. Eoin and Ethan McHugh got the other Aghyaran goals with Johnny Connolly getting a brace of points as well.
Recently crowned Intermediate championship winners Edendork warmed up for next weekend’s league final when winning 3-17 to 3-10 away to Moortown. Scorer in chief for the St.Malachys was once again County attacker Darren McCurry who kicked an impressive 1-10 with Paudie Donnelly and Niall McAlinden their other goal scorers with Emmett Hughes, Harry Og Conlon and Stephen Gervin among their points. Peter Devlin top scored for the Loughshore men with 2-3 to his name with Brian McLarnon getting their other goal and Mark Devlin landing four points.
Rock were six point winners away to Tattyreagh. Liam Nugent led the way in the scoring stakes for the winners with 0-9 to his name with Aidan McGarrity weighing in with 1-3 and Padraig Ward grabbing their other goal. James Darcy top scored for Tattyreagh with half a dozen points to his name while Eoghan Murray and a Johnny Harkin goal from the penalty spot got their majors.
