“Dean” Blitz Won By Greencastle.

Dean Maguirc College Carrickmore hosted their annual Primary Schools Blitz on Tuesday afternoon and witnessed a host of high quality football with two very entertaining finals at the conclusion of a wonderful day’s exhibition of Gaelic football. The format of the competition was eight a side with each team consisting of four boys and four girls and all pupils from Year 5 and Year 6. Schools were invited to enter two teams with an A and a B section available. At the conclusion of the sectional games and the semi finals Our Lady of Lourdes PS Greencastle faced St Colmcilles PS Carrickmore in the A final. The game was close, exciting and extremely pacy as both teams went in search of the coveted title. When the final whistle blew it was the Greencastle school that prevailed deservedly winning by six points.
Indeed the Greencastle students came close to making it a double but they just came up short in the B Section Final when they lost out narrowly to a very talented Mountfield PS team.
