Tyrone Vocational Schools U14 Semi-final Update
The Dean and St Ciarán’s have it all to do again
Dean Maguirc Carrickmore 1-11 V St Ciaran’s Ballygawley 2-08
Referee: Stephen McNamee
St Ciaran’s College Ballygawley and Dean Maguirc College Carrickmore U14s played out a draw in a fiercely contested game in Dunmoyle on Friday afternoon. Holy Trinity College Cookstown, who earlier in the week defeated St Patrick’s College Dungannon, await the winners in the final. In excellent sunny conditions Dean Maguirc raced into a six point lead with three points in succession and then a goal from their full forward Luke Kelly. This seemed to waken St Ciarán’s from their slumber as they responded with three points of their own from Conor Kelly and Jodie McGlone (2) followed by a Jodie McGlone goal. Both sides then traded points to leave them level at the break at 1-05 each.
Dean Maguirc again commenced the second half stronger with two points but St Ciarán’s responded with a goal from Darren McSorley to put them into the lead for the first time. Both teams’ traded points until a brace of points saw St Ciarán’s go two points up with eight minutes remaining. Scores were had to come by in the remaining minutes, however Dean Maguirc salvaged a draw with two points one the last kick of the game from Nathan Kelly.
The reply is scheduled for Tuesday 23rd November at 1.30pm with the venue to be decided.
