Dean Maguirc Carrickmore 1-18 St.Mary’s CBS Belfast 2-8

Dean Maguirc College made it through to the semi finals of the Mac Larnon Cup after an impressive display and a fine win over St Mary’s Belfast on Thursday afternoon.
The Dean produced a scintillating opening fifteen minutes that saw them establish an eight point lead 1-6 to 0-1.
The Carrickmore were on top from early on with points from Phelim McCrory, Caolan Tracey, Vincent Gormley, Padraig Donaghy and Caolan Grimes as well as a superbly crafted and well finished Mc Crory goal.
The Belfast side got themselves back into the game with points from Matthew Murray, Odhran McAuley and Padraig O’Muirigh before Murray plundered their first goal. The Dean recovered and points from Gormley, Odhran Curran and Caolan Grimes saw them reach the break leading 1-11 to 1-5.
The second half saw both sides produce some excellent football with St Mary’s pushing hard to reduce the deficit. A goal from St Marys wing back Mc Laren gave his team hope but the Dean were not to be denied
An excellent Michael McCallan point and scores from Donaghy, McCrory and substitute Lorcan Meenagh sealed the win and ensured the Tyrone school made it through to the last four of the competition.
