Dean Triumph In Year 8 Hurling Blitz

There was a feast of hurling on display this week at the annual Year 8 blitz. The standard of play and sportsmanship were exceptionally high throughout and led to several very close and exciting games. Played in excellent conditions in Killyclogher Dean Maguirc College won the annual Year 8 Tyrone Hurling Blitz.
They defeated St. Patrick’s. College Dungannon, Holy Cross Strabane and St. Patrick’s Academy in the group stages and then in a pulsating final the once again defeated St. Patrick’s Academy by one point.
Star performer for the Dean was undoubtedly Cormac Munroe who has a bright future ahead of him in this sport. He was well supported by Michael Gormley
Matthew McCallan and Thomas McCallan. Oisin Daly also showed a lot of determination as did Arnoldas Macidulskas (who was only introduced to hurling recently.)
