St.Patrick’s Academy Dungannon made a disappointing exit from this season’s Danske Bank MacRory Cup when they were well beaten at the quarter final stage by St.Pats Maghera at the Loup on Wednesday evening. The Derry lads were the better side throughout and were full value for their 1-10 to 0-4 victory.

Alex Doherty, Conleth McGuckian and Enda Downey had first half points for the winners as they led 0-5 to 0-2 at the break, Ronan McHugh and Neil Kilpatrick the Academy marksmen. Full forward Doherty grabbed an early second half goal and in truth the result wasn’t in doubt after that. Fintan Bradley, Downey, Doherty and the lively Daithi McLaughlin all tagged on points with Kilpatrick and Ryan McCabe getting the Academy’s only second half scores, the night for the Academy summed up late on when they had defender Oisin McHugh sent off.
