A busy weekend in Division 3 saw two of the early pace setters Castlederg and Urney facing each other at St Columba’s Park. The home side started well and took advantage of some slack defending by the Derg to help themselves to a half time lead of 2-3 to 1-4. The Urney goals came from Adrian Maxwell and Conor Redstone while the Derg major came from Corin Mc Connell. The second half saw the home side dominate early on but by the three quarter time the Derg’s greater fitness began to tell and three two pointers in quick succession had them in front. Conor Mc Daid’s accuracy from frees kept Urney in it but when Cain Harper broke through for his ream’s second goal it was all over and the Derg finished up convincing 2-17 to 2-11 winners. Redstone, (1-0), Maxwell (1-1)and Conor Mc Daid (0-7) led the home side in terms of scoring while Corin Mc Connell (1-6) and Eoghan Bradley (0-4) had their shooting boots on for the Derg.
Omagh 3rds found the going a bit too hot against Brocagh at the weekend when they lost out 6-17 to 0-9. James Mc Kiver hit 4-2 while Michael Robinson and Ryan Canavan both contributed 1-1. For Omagh Ben Mc Farland hit 1-2 while Eamon Mc Mahon fired over a brace of points.
Monday night also saw a number of other games across Division Three. Fintona hosted Augher and with home advantage ran out comfortable winners. For the home side the elusive Conor Mc Gillion top scored with 1-5 while Tiernan Watson (1-0), Aaron Mc Carney (0-4) and Niall Murray (0-3) were all on target. Fintona led 1-8 to 0-7 at the short whistle and kept their opponents at arm’s length throughout. Pascal Gormley, Raymond Mc Elroy and Dara Donnelly were among the points for Augher.
CNG got the better of Cookstown 3rds and Stewartstown Harps saw off the challenge of Strabane Sigersons 1-16 to 1-11.
The Half time score saw CNG trail Cookstown 1.03 to 1-5 but the North Tyrone side improved after the break and took the points on a score line of CNG 1.15 Cookstown 1.13.
CNG open scoring in 5th minute when Oran O’Neill blasted to roof of the net but for the remainder of the opening half Cookstown were on top. Liam Gault, Keelan Donaghey & Oran O’Neill scored the for CNG. The second half was a much more even contest but CNG finished strongly with Oran O’Neill scoring 3 pts in last five minutes to give Clanns the win. 2 x 2 pointers from Liam Gault & Keelan Donaghey proved the difference on the game.

Cookstown: Ryan Owens 0-4, James Devlin 1-0, James Mc Gahan 0-3, Jake Doris 0-2 and a point each from Connor O’Hare, Thomas Mc Brien, Nick Guedes and Kevin Mc Sorley.
Stewartstown Harps continue on their winning ways following a long run to Strabane on Monday evening. The home side was reduced to fourteen following a straight red card and the extra man told especially in the last quarter. Sigersons scorers on the night were Kelvin Nelson 0-3, Connor O’Hagan 1-0, Oran White 0-2, Tom Mc Dermott 0-2 and Oisin Mc Gillion 0-2. The Harps were pushed all the way by the home but led at the break 1-8 to 0-9 with their goal coming from Dylan Mc Elhatton. There were first half points from Rian Beggs and Rian O’Neill. Second half points from Theo Lowe, Rian Beggs and Eoghan O’Donnell helped secure the win for Stewartstown.
Brackaville were in free scoring mood as they put Omagh to the sword running out 4-19 to 1-9 winners over the Roes. among the goals were Daire Carberry, James Gillis, Oisin Brady and Shea Fee. In addition to those there were points from Shea Fee (6) and Rian O’Neill (7)
