Brocagh found Castlederg a tough place to visit on Sunday when they met a Derg team brimming with confidence and playing well. Castlederg had early points from Adam Traynor and Mark Corry but were stunned when Brocagh broke for a Mark Canavan goal following a Tiernan O’Neill point to move 1-1 to 0-2 ahead. Stung into action Castlederg responded positively and Corry bagged a quick fire 1-2 to put his team in control leading 1-8 to 1-2 at the break. Brocagh continued to sit deep and attempt to score on the counter attack but that particular tactic rarely worked for them and the home side added  further points through Adam Traynor (1), Mark Corry (2) and Shane Carlin (2) to seal the win.

Eskra hosted a Derrytresk side stung by last week’s draw with Fintona and found the Hill men in uncompromising form. Once again Niall Gavin led the way in scoring with a superb 0-11 while Ronan O’Neill’s goal proved invaluable. Derrytresk led 8-3 at the break and were good value for their lead. Eskra improved after the break with Joe Mc Carroll, Niall Marlowe, Cathal Meegan and Johnny Hackett on target. Hackett converted a penalty for Eskra with five minutes left to play but in spite of their best efforts all they could manage was a solitary Johnny Hackett point and Derrytresk held out to win by five 1-14 to 1-09.

Fintona hosted an inform Kildress and found them a bit too hot to handle with Mattie Mc Guigan (1-6), Philip Lennon (0-6) and Stephen Loughran (0-4) doing the damage while Corey Holland and veteran Frank Mc Gurk both found the net. Kildress raced into an eight point lead in the opening quarter and never looked back. They led 0-13 to 0-5 at the break and their three goals came inside the last quarter. Fintona had points from Cathal Starrs, Mark Mc Glynn and Niall Murray on a day to forget for the Pearses.

Killeeshil saw off the challenge of Glenelly at home  0-17 to 2-8 with Paschal Donaghy leading the line with 0-8. Jason Doyle hit 0-3 while Conal Monaghan and Daniel Millar both hit a brace of points for the winners. Glenelly will be somewhat disappointed with the result having trailed at the break 0-9 to 1-3. Ronan O’Kane (1-4) and Barry Mc Connell (1-1) top scored for the north Tyrone side.

Brackaville and Killyman served up a six goal thriller during which both sides dominated and looked set for victory at different stages in the game. In the end it took a surge of late scores to seal the win for the Owen Roes. Killyman were down by a point 2-8 to 2-7 at the break having trailed by six at one stag. Brackaville pulled clear in the second half only to see Killyman draw the game before going in front again. Both sides produced some superb football but it was the men in red who prevailed with a late 1-1 from Jason O’Neill and a free from Dale Mc Sorley to win by four 3-16 to 3-12. Brackaville scorers: Tiarnan Mc Glinchey 0-1, Dale Mc Sorley 1-9, Gary Ferguson 1-0, Conor Stock 0-1, Tiernan Ruddy 0-1, Ronan Mc Hugh 0-1, Shea Fee 0-1, Marty Gervin 0-1, Jason O’Neill 1-1. Killyman Scorers Michael Donnelly 1-4, Enda McGahan 1-3, Luke Roche 1-0, Cathal Mc Gahan 0-2, Brian Óg O’Rourke 0-2. Eamon Donnelly 0-1.

Drumquin made it three wins from three starts when they defeated Errigal Thirds 2-17 to 0-10 on a difficult evening for football. The first half was hard fought and close and at half time the score was 0-6 to 0-5 in favour of Drumquin. With Stephen Gormley and Pearse Mc Girr in outstanding form the home side produced some superb football in the second half. Cormac Rodgers finished top scorer with 2-4, Sean Mc Donagh hit 0-5 , Ryan Mc Callion and Oisin Mc Menamin bagged a brace of points each as the Wolfe Tones eased to victory. Once again Pio Mc Dermott was to the fore in terms of scoring for Errigal. He hit five points for his team while Pascal Donnelly, Connor Mc Aleer, Barry Donnelly, Niall Quinn and Paul McGroarty scored a point apiece.

Clan na nGael hosted Coalisland Thirds on Saturday and enjoyed a high scoring afternoon. The home side was quick out of the blocks with early points from Ryan Devine and Shea Browne. Coalisland hit back with a goal from Kevin Corr but Clann Na nGael swiftly regained control with a series of unanswered points from Gareth McDermott, Danny Ball, Browne, Danny Conwell and Paul Conwell. Clann were dominant with chances at goal, but they were denied after several super stops from the visitor’s keeper Dylan Woods. Coalisland chipped two points back but again Clann responded with more points from Ball, Devine, Browne and McDermott. Clann were awarded a penalty which Danny Ball slotted home in style leaving the half time score 1.16-1.2.

Clann picked up where they had left off after the break with substitute Eoghan Dooher finding the net. Coalisland battled hard with another 3 points but the Clann men were in total control. Further points from Ball, McDermott, Browne and Niall Kerlin further enhanced their lead. Dooher completed his hat-trick with another goal being added by Ronan Devine to seal the victory for the home team. Points from Ball, Damien Ball and Conor Harkin gave the Gaels a comfortable victory of 5.26-1.6
