Owen Mulligan kicked five points for Cookstown in Ardboe tonight as both sides wasted chances but had to settle for a draw in the end. Ardboe were ahead at the break 1-5 to 0-6 following points from Michael Hagan, Thomas Wylie and a brilliant goal from the very dangerous Michael Cassidy. The Cookstown scores in the opening half were shared between Owen Mulligan, Raymond Mulgrew and Christopher Eastwood. After the break both sides kicked eight wides before Cookstown finally got off the mark with a point from Eastwood in the 45th minute. Tommy McGuigan had an excellent opportunity to end the contest two minutes from time but his shot was fired over the bar. In the end Cookstown had to rely on the brilliant free taking of Owen Mulligan to secure a point. Final Score – Ardboe 1-7 Cookstown 0-10
