Eskra produced a superb performance to overcome league leaders Moortown at home. Moortown played the slightly better football in the opening half to take a 0-7 to 1-3 into the break. Peter Devlin, Tony Quinn and Conor Herron were all on the scoreboard for the St Malachy’s side. Eskra had Niall Marlow to thank for their goal in the opening period. After the break Peter Hughes, Shane Hackett, Cormac Arkinson slotted second half points as the Emmetts went on to record a three point victory. Final Score – Eskra 1-10 Moortown 0-10
Clann na nGael remain rooted to the bottom on Division 2 after losing out to newly promoted Dungannon at home. Dungannon man Padraig McNulty scored the goal while sharp shooter Keifer Morgan and Adam Mallon were among the point scorers. Stephen O’Neill was the top scorer for Clann na nGael. He drilled home a penalty but the Clanns in the end came up a little short. Final Score – Clann na nGael 1-9 Dungannon 1-13
Johnny Lafferty is pushing hard to take over the lead in the Division 2 scorers chart following his three goal haul in Brackaville this afternoon. The Urney man fired home two of those majors from the penalty spot. Jamie McAleer was also in goal scoring form as Urney recorded a four point win. Ciaran Gervin and Sean McNally both featured among the points scorers for Brackaville. Final Score – Brackaville 0-15 Urney 4-7
Kildress fought back to earn a point at home to Galbally. Damian Kelly slotted home an injury time goal to haul Kildress into a game that they looked certain to lose. Galbally were well in control of the game for long periods and at one point they had an eight point lead. Mickey Murphy, Neil Hagan and Sean Murphy were all on target for the Pearses while the Kildress scores came from Des Treacy and Frank McGurk. Final Score – Kildress 1-9 Galbally 0-12
Edendork made the short trip to Stewartstown and came away with a 2-15 to 2-10 victory. County attacker Darren McCurry led the way in the scoring stakes for the St.Malachys with David Toner bagging both of their goals. Dan Lowe and Ryan Devlin were the Harps’ goal scorers with James Kelly landing a number of points.
Pomeroy moved to the top of of the Intermediate table were they now share that honour with Moortown. This after the Plunketts recorded a four point win away in Aghyaran. Kevin Armstrong, Ollie McCreesh, and Hugh McNamee were among the point scorers for Pometroy while Aidan Connolly and Kevin Penrose were on target for the home side. Final Score – Aghyaran 0-8 Pomeroy 0-12
Edendork are within touching distance now of the top spot in Division 2 as they captured both points in Stewartstown today. Both teams scored two goals each. Darren McCurry topped the scoring charts for Edendork as David Toner thumped home both goals. Dan Lowe and Ryan Devlin slotted home Stewartstown’s goals and James Kelly kicked a number of points for the home side. Final Score – Stewartstown 2-10 Edendork 2-15
Gortin continued their recent run of good form with a seven point victory over Rock at home this afternoon. Diarmuid McNulty top scored for the home side kicking 1-4. Rock had led the game 0-6 to 0-2 early on thanks to points from James McCreesh and Conor McCreesh. Further scores from Aidan McGarrity were however cancelled out by Mickey Mossey who finished the game with 0-5. Final Score – Gortin 1-12 Rock 0-8
