Edendork hosted Derrylaughan this afternoon at St Malachy’s Park and they secured both points on the opening day.  Darren McCurry, Niall Morgan and Harry Og Conlon shared eight first half points for the home side.  Martin McStravog hammered home a goal for the Kevin Barry’s to keep them in touch.  Points from Daire Carney and Conor Kelly gave Derrylaughan plenty of hope of a win in the second period however the last score of the game came from Darren McCurry.  Final Score – Edendork 0-15 Derrylaughan 1-10

Despite kicking only two points in the second half Kildress pocketed both points against Gortin in Gortaclady.  Frank McGurk and Des Treacy slotted 0-6 between them for Kildress before the break with Kevin Mossey kicking three points for the St Patrick’s side.  Mossey slotted two more after the break.  Kildress failed to make any real impact of the scoring board but a late Colm Loughran point meant they recorded the win.  Both sides finished with 14 men.  Final Score – Kildress 0-10 Gortin 0-7

Killeeshil led 1-5 to 0-3 at the break in their first game back in Intermediate football.  A well taken Aaron McKenna goal for Killeeshil easing the opening day nerves.  Kevin Gallagher got two points for Newtownstewart in that opening period.  Two second half Shane Mallon points were cancelled out by two points from Ryan Mayse.  Mayse also fired home a goal for Newtownstewart but Killeeshil hung on for the three point victory.  Final Score – Killeeshil 1-9 Newtownstewart 1-6

Brackaville made home advantage count as they entertained Galbally in this afternoons Intermediate league.  They were ahead at the break 0-4 to 0-2 thanks to points from Paddy Gervin.  Paul Rafferty was among the points for Galbally.  After the short whistle Sean Murphy helped to draw the sides level for a short time before Paddy Gervin, Joe Rafferty and Ciaran Gervin scores eased Brackaville well clear.  Galbally got a late consolation goal from Enda McGarrity.  Final Score – Brackaville 0-11 Galbally 1-5

It was level at 0-5 apiece in Stewarstown as Urney made the long trip east.  Johnny Lafftery, Stephen Lafferty and Chris Bogle finished the game with two points each.  The Stewartstown scores came from 2013 Teamtalkmag Intermediate Top Scorer Gareth Devlin (0-5), Peter Armour with three points and James Kelly who kicked 0-2.  Final Score – Stewartstown 0-12 Urney 0-7

Trillick travelled to O’Neill Park today and came away with both points.  They gained control of the contest in the second half following goals from Lee Brennan and Richard Donnelly.  It was Dungannon that took the early initiative with a goal inside twenty seconds from Barry Logan.  First half points from Daire Gallagher kept St Macartan’s in touch before Niall Gormley found the net to leave them tied 1-6 to 1-6 at the break.  Those Trillick goals followed up with points from Richard Donnelly, Brennan and Gallagher 0-3 gave Trillick the daylight they needed to secure the win.  Patrick Quinn also managed a second half goal but it wasn’t enough to get the Clarkes over the line. Final Score – Dungannon 2-10 Trillick 3-13.

Declan Grimes scored 1-1 and Ronan Ward converted three frees as Loughmacrory marked their return to Intermediate football with a 1-9 to 1-5 success at home to Aghyaran. Ronan McHugh got the major for the St.Davogs with Aidan Connolly contributing a couple of points. Greencastle’s bid to make a quick return to senior football got off to a good start when they had the minimum to spare over Pomeroy at Plunkett Park. Mark Carson’s early goal ultimately proved to be the difference on a day when Frank Burns top scored for the hosts.
