Ciaran Donnelly returned for Brocagh today and was central to their win over Dregish. The visitors found themselves a point up at the break leading 1-4 to 1-3 with Martin Bonnar getting their goal and Stephen Breen a couple of points. A Ciaran Donnelly double and a goal from Sean McFaul kept Brocagh well in the game at the short whistle. Donnelly added four more points after the break and was joined on the score board by Michael Hughes who also knocked over a quadruple of points to ensure the home side got the win. Ronan Glackin and Conor McHugh had points for the visitors but it was the Loughshore men who deservedly took the victory.

Drumragh began the new season with a win over Castlederg. In a low scoring and very close first half the sides were level on three occasions and reached the break level at three points apiece with Mark Corry and Brian Coyle on target for the Derg. A Shane Cleary goal ten minutes into the second half put the home side ahead and in spite of a gallant Derg comeback Drumragh held on to win 1-6 to 0-8. Paddy Lynch, Sean Harper and Steafain Gallen were among Castlederg’s second half scorers.

Errigal Thirds got the better of Glenelly at home today on a final score of 2-6 to 1-7. A Sean Mc Girr goal midway through through the first half put the home side ahead before Seamus Harkin with 1-1 made sure his side went in at the break level 1-3 apiece. Ronan Kirk, Ruairi Mc Garvey and Seamus Harkin were all on target in the second half but it was Stephen Mc Crory’s goal that was to prove to be the key score as Errigal 3rds held on for a narrow win.

Aghaloo had a goal to spare this afternoon against Fintona winning 1-12 to 0-12. The O’Neills trailed by a point at the break 1-4 to 0-8 but restricted the Pearses to four points in the second half. Aghaloo scorers on the day Tiernan Donnelly 1-5, Ruairi Mc Glone 0-2, C Mullen 0-2, Gary O’Gorman 0-2 and Jody Mc Glone 0-1.

Tattyreagh were made to fight all the way before defeating Clan na Gael 1-13 to 1-12. The winners began well with three points from county minor James Darcy while a goal from Joe Cartin put them into a strong first half position. Clan na Gael fought back however and will consider themselves unfortunate not to have got something out of the game. Tattyreagh scorers James Darcy (0-5), Joe Cartin (1-1), Collie Harkin (0-2) with points also from Barry Montgomery, Brian Armstrong, Eoin Murray, Damian Mc Gloin and Damian Mullan.

Owen Roes defeated Killyman St.Marys 1-14 to 0-7 at home with Ryan McAleer, Sean Dooher and Cathal Mc Shane all prominent in their team’s impressive win while Ciaran Og Hughes and Conor Boyle worked hard for Killyman. Using the wind advantage the home side reached the break leading 1-8 to 0-5 with former county minor Mc Shane getting his team’s goal. Sean Dooher opened the scoring in the second half but Enda McGahan pointed to keep his team in touch. However Killyman were relying on long range efforts but could do little to prevent Owen Roes easing to victory on a final score of 1-14 to 0-8.

Rock travelled to Beragh for their first game back in Division Three and started the new season with a fine 1-12 to 0-7 win. There was little between the sides early on with the teams tied at 0-2 apiece after ten minutes with Eddie Molloy and Declan Mc Cann on target for the Red Knights. Ciaran Gourley was very prominent for Rock and his goal in the seventeenth minute gave his team a lead they would not relinquish. Beragh goalkeeper Dan Mc Sorley made several fine stops but there was to be no stopping a determined Rock outfit who eased to a 1-12 to 0-7 win. Ciaran Gourley finished with 1-2 while Conor Mc Creesh top scored with 0-6. Other scorers for the winners were Diarmuid Carroll (0-2), Cathal Mc Williams (0-1) and Aidan Girvan (0-1). Beragh’s points came from Eddie Molloy, Declan Mc Cann, Chrissy Devlin and Hugo Franey.

Clogher lost by three points to former Junior champions Derrytresk but made the East Tyrone side battle all the way for the win. Only eight of the side that played in the promotion play off against Newtownstewart lined out for the Eire Ogs today.Twenty minutes into the game and the sides were level at 0-2 apiece but Derrytresk showed their battling qualities to reach the break two in front 0-5 to 0-3. Clogher’s first half scorers were Bazza Mc Kenna, Cillian Barkley and Mark Mc Connell. Cathal O’Neill and Joe Mc Kee were in fine form for the winners scoring 0-7 between them as the Men From the Hill ran out deserving 0-10 to 0-7 winners. Derrytresk scorers Cathal O’Neill 0-4, Joe Mc Kee 0-3, Niall Gavin, Liam Slater and Kevin Campbell 0-1 apiece. Second half scorers for Clogher were Cillian Barkley and Barry Duck Mc Kenna 0-2 apiece.
