Division 3 Wrap Up In Association With Mc Girr Bros Quarries

Division three leaders Fintona made it five wins from five starts and are sitting proudly at the top of the table following a 0-10 to 1-6 win over Derrytresk.The Hill Men pushed the Pearses all the way with Liam Slater forcing Cathal Gillespie into a huge  save deep in injury time but Fintona held on for the win and top spot in the table. Conor Mc Gillion finished the game with 0-7 with Eugene Mc Carroll, Caolan Donnelly and Conor Mc Goldrick were all on target for the Pearses.

Errigal recorded their second win of the season when they defeated Donaghmore in the battle of the thirds. Once again the evergreen Davy Harte top scored with 1-2 while Darren Canavan also featured prominently. Others to get among the scores were Ciaran Mc Ginley and Ronan Mc Rory with 0-2 apiece.

Cookstown continued their fine run of form with a convincing away from home win over Urney. Having led at the break 1-6 to 0-2 the Fr Rocks dominated the second half to run out comfortable 2-11 to 0-6 winners. John Gilmore top scored with 2-3 while Matthew Carberry (3), Michael Mc Elhatton (2), Callan Kelly (2) and Marty Murray were among the points. Ryan Henry led the line for a disappointing Urney side with 0-3 while Jamie Mc Aleer (2) and Liam Langan were also on target.

Eskra saw off the challenge of a dogged Castlederg side on Friday night with a Joe Mc Carroll goal just before half time helping to put clear daylight between the teams. The sides were level at 0-2 apiece after fifteen minutes but from then until the break Eskra tagged on scores and shut up shop to reach the break leading 1-7 to 0-2. Cathal Meegan, Niall Marlow and Joe Mc Carroll accounted for most of the Eskra scores while Daire Corrry, Cian Harper, Adam Traynor and Darren Traynor were among the points for an improving Castlederg side. Final score 1-13 to 0-8 for Eskra.

CNG made the long run to Brocagh and came away with a point after an entertaining game between two well balanced sides. Oisin Roper’s first half goal helped send the Emmetts off at the break leading 1-7 to 0-8 but CNG dug deep and went away with a share of the spoils on a score line of Brocagh 2-10, CNG 1-13. Among the scorers for Brocagh were Oisin Roper (2-1), Mickey Hughes 0-5, Niall Cassidy, Pearse Mc Aliskey, Brandon Mc Kiver and Owen Canavan 0-1 apiece.

Drumquin were back to their high scoring winning ways with a very impressive 6-15 to 2-9 win over Brackaville. The Wolfe Tones struggled for scores at times last day out against Fintona but they had their shooting boots on this time around with Oisin Gormley (1-9), Sean Mc Donagh (2-2), Finnan Patterson (2-1) and Benny Gormley (1-2) among the goals.
