Cookstown hosted Greencastle this afternoon and picked up another two points thanks to an 18 point win. Cookstown led 0-9 to 0-6 at the break. Six different scorers registered for the Fr Rock’s during that period including Brian Mulligan, Conor Mullan, John Gilmore and Martin Murray. The Greencastle points came from Mark Carson, John McCullagh and Chris Gallen. McCullagh received a second yellow card shortly after the restart and Cookstown really made them pay for the loss. Two goals from Conor Mullan and further points from Owen Mulligan, Christopher Eastwood and the excellent Raymond Mulgrew heaped on the punishment. Final Score – Cookstown 2-19 Greencastle 0-7

Carrickmore met Dromore in Garvaghey this afternoon and brought an end to Dromore’s lead at the top of the table.  Carrickmore played with the wind in the first half and early points from Martin Penrose, Mickey McCallan and Mark Donnelly had them ahead at the break.  Dromore only recorded one point in the opening half through a Sean McNabb point.  After the break Paddy Montague got on the scoreboard but a Martin Penrose goal for Carrickmore secured their lead.  Sean McDonnell and Paddy Montague recorded further points for Dromore but these scores were cancelled out by points from Ronan McNally and Conor Gormley.  Final Score – Carrickmore 1-9 Dromore 0-8

Donaghmore played host to Ardboe and they secured a much needed point against a top four side.  Ardboe were ahead at half time 0-6 to 0-4 thanks to points from Shea McGuigan.  Shane Mulgrew was on the scoreboard for Donaghmore with three points during this time.  Dusan Quinn fired home the first Donaghmore goal early in the second half although Arboe regained control through Shea McGuigan and Nishy O’Neill.  The St Patrick’s men weren’t to be denied though as Mark Heatherington bagged a late goal to earn a draw.  Final Score – Donaghmore 2-7 Ardboe 0-13

Bottom of the table Derrylaughan battled well against visitors Trillick but unfortunately they went down by a single point.  Trillick were 0-8 to 1-2 in front before the short whistle thanks to points from Philip McGrade and Richard Donnelly.  Fergal McAliskey bagged the Kevin Barrys goal during that time.  Derrylaughan had the wind at their back in the second half and Ciaran Quinn made it count adding another 1-2 to the Derrylaughan scoreline.  However points from Rory Brennan and Niall Gormley saw the Trillick men over the line.  Final Score – Derrylaughan 2-9 Trillick 0-16

League champions Clonoe went to Eglish and came away with a five point win.  The Rahilly’s will feel that it should have been much more but for a series of wides.  Colm Doris fired home the Clonoe goal while county man Connor McAliskey finished the game with 0-4.  Sean McKillion got the Eglish goal while county minor man Conor McKenna fired 0-2.  Final Score – Eglish 1-5 Clonoe 1-10

Coalisland are back at the top of Division 1 this evening following a three point victory at home to Moy.  Moy played with the wind in the opening half and county star Sean Cavanagh was in fine form slotting four points.  He finished the match with 0-6.  Anthony Rafferty fired home the Moy goal.  Gerard Toner kicked three frees for Coalisland and it took a second half goal from Eoin Carberry to guide the Fianna to victory.  Final Score – Coalisland 1-10 Moy 1-7

Tommy Canavan hit five points while younger brother Darren weighed in with four as County champions Errigal Ciaran defeated Augher 0-16 to 0-9.  Jamie Donnelly, Conor Hackett and Daire Kavanagh all hit a brace of points each for the St.Macartans
