Defending champions Errigal Ciaran booked the final league semi final place when beating Clonoe 0-15 to 2-8 at Dunmoyle. Peter Harte, Darren Canavan, Ciaran McGinley and Bryan Horisk all featured among the points for the winners with Shane Coney and Colm Doris getting the O’Rahillys ’goals. Donaghmore defeated Dromore 1-12 to 1-9 with Fergal Quinn and Shane Mulgrew the goal scorers for the respective teams. A late Daniel McDonald goal rescued Trillick at home to Cookstown as it finished all square 1-13 to 2-10, the Father Rocks making the drop.
Derrylaughan ensured their safety thanks to a hard earned 1-14 to 2-10 win over Eglish. Martin McStravog got the Kevin Barrys goal with Ciaran Quinn, Shea Coney and Ciaran Gervin among the points, Gregory Jordan and Brendan Donnelly the Eglish goal scorers. Ardboe completed the double over Greencastle when they triumphed 1-11 to 1-10, Ryan Conway with the St.Patricks goal and Martin Conway and Mark Carson getting points. Moortown had a narrow 2-10 to 0-15 win away to Killyclogher with Padraig Hagan and Philip Muldoon finding the net for the St.Malachys, Mark Bradley and James Carlin among the points for the hosts.
Dromore lost at home to Donaghmore in a game that had very little riding on the outcome. There was nothing between the sides in the opening half and they went into the break level Dromore 1-4, Donaghmore 0-7 with Dromore’s goal coming from the unlikely source of Fergal Quinn while Aidy Mc Caffrey, Paddy Montague and Kevin O’Brien were on target with points for the St Dympnas. Donaghmore however put the disappointment of last week’s poor championship display behind them with a resolute performance and fine first half scores from Niall Mc Kenna, Shane Mulgrew,Dan Toner and Matt Mc Gahan. Dromore were slightly the better side in the second period and with ten to go were 1-9 to 0-10 ahead. The game was decided by an injury time penalty converted by Shane Mulgrew which put the visitors ahead for the first time and a further injury time point from D Quinn ensured two points and bragging rights for Donaghmore. Final score Dromore 1-9, Donaghmore 1-12.
Carrickmore finished top of the table with a very comfortable win against a Moy side that finished with fourteen players following the sending off of county player Colm Cavanagh in the second half for a second yellow card offence. Carmen were dominant throughout and restricted Moy to only one score in the first half while Caolan Daly with a goal and points from Paul Hughes, Ciaran Mc Aleer and Finbarr Magill put the table toppers in control. Colin Duffy scored a consolation goal for Moy after the break but they were a well beaten side long before the final whistle as Carrickmore ran out comfortable 1-16 to 1-5 winners.
