Kildress and Derrytresk had an early start on Sunday morning for their Division Three league fixture. Roger Keenan’s side started well and twenty minutes in were 0-6 to 0-1 ahead with points from Frank Mc Gurk, Stephen Loughran, Des Tracey, Conor Quinn, Mattie Mc Guigan and Johnny Connolly. Derrytresk recovered from their slow start to reach the break trailing 9-4 with scores from Cathal O’Neill, Eoin Mc Nally and Pat Campbell. Martin Grimes added a brace of points to the Kildress total while Conor Quinn tagged on his second score of the game just before the break. Aidan and Niall Gavin shared four points between them for the Hill Men over the course of the second half but there was no stopping the Wolfe Tones. Conor Quinn, Philip Lennon, Enda Mc Aleer and Mattie Mc Guigan tagged on points before they wrapped up the game with a brace of late goals courtesy of Mattie Mc Guigan and Conor Quinn. Final score: Kildress 2-15 Derrytresk 0-7

Castlederg made the long run to Coalisland for their league clash with Fianna Thirds. It was a much improved showing from the boys in blue losing out after an entertaining hour’s football 3-15 to 2-10. Castlederg hit the opening scores of the game as points from Mark Corry (2) and Conor Mc Callion gave them the perfect start. The Fianna replied with three of their own to tie the score before Corry found the net with a typical finish. Once again Coalisland responded positively and were level again within a minute after a fine goal from Ryan Magee. Castlederg hit a purple patch to add 1-6 to their tally. Adam Traynor (1-0), Mark Corry (2), Darren Traynor (2) and a point apiece from Mc Callion and Caolan Harvey helped send the sides off at half time with the Derg leading comfortably 2-9 to 1-4.
Scores were hard to come by in the early part of the second half as both defences tightened up but Sean Meehan (1), Adam Traynor (1-1), Paddy Lynch (0-2) and a point from Conal Keyes left the Derg leading 3-15 to 1-7 with less than ten minutes remaining. The visitors seemed to take the foot off the pedal and allowed Coalisland back into the game with three late points and a scrambled goal from Martin Hughes to leave the final score 3-15 to 2-10 in favour of Castlederg. Veteran Gerard Toner hit 0-4 on his first game for the thirds while Ryan Magee (1-1), Martin Hughes (1-0), Kevin Corr (0-3), Rian O’Donnell (0-1) and Mark Early (0-1) were all on target for the Fianna.
