It is the last league game of the season and the top marksmen in each division will have one final chance to increase their personal tallies and move up the top scorers chart. Division Three has set the pace all year and with sixty minutes of league football left for the season we have a situation where we could end up with three players all reaching treble figures in terms of points scored. Aghaloo’s Stephen Donnelly who has led the way since early in the season and has already crossed the hundred points barrier following his 1-4 against Derrytresk which takes him to a total of 106 points for the season so far. Close behind him we have Niall Gavin of Derrytresk and Glenelly’s Cathal Nicholas. Last time out both of these players recorded 1-7 to move them even closer to the magic total of one hundred. At present Nicholas sits on 97 points with young Gavin just four behind on 93.

So while there may be a lot to play for in terms of top four positions and possible play off places in several games there might also be a bit of personal glory to go for in terms of the top scorers chart in others. It is unlikely Stephen Donnelly will be caught at the top but it will be interesting to see if Gavin and Nicholas can reach the century for the season.

Further down the table Brockagh’s Ciaran Donnelly has moved into fifth position just ahead of Errigal pair Damien Mc Dermott and Michael Harte who themselves are separated by only a single point. So it might be interesting to see who gets to hit the free kicks in their game! Whatever way it works out we will bring you all the results this afternoon and a final top scorers table early next week.
