Former Tyrone captain Stephen O’Neill led the line for his club today as Clan na Gael defeated neighbours and rivals Glenelly 2-14 to 0-10. Both himself and Aidy Ball found the net in a close first half that saw the clansmen reach the break leading 2-7 to 0-6. Glenelly only managed four second half points with nine of their scores coming from the boot of Seamus Harkin while Brendan Connolly hit 0-3 for the winners.

Ex county man Johnny Lafferty delivered a timely reminder of his talents as he scored 4-5 in his side’s 5-11 to 0-12 win at home to Brackaville on Sunday. The visitors began well enough but were stunned when Lafferty plundered two goals for Urney. The home side reached the break 2-5 to 0-8 in front  and strolled to a comfortable victory with Lafferty outstanding for his team. Sean Day (0-4), Paul Rouse (0-3) and Ciaran Gervin (0-2) were among the Brackaville scorers on the day.

Clogher and Fintona served up a real treat of a derby before the Eire Ogs edged it by two on a final score of 1-13 to 0-14. Clogher began the game brightly and led 1-1 to no score after two minutes with their goal coming from Mark Mc Connell. In spite of enjoying home advantage Fintona took time to settle but reached the break level 1-5 to 0-8 with Aaron Mc Carney (0-3) and Paul Kelly (0-2) leading the recovery.

Credit to Clogher though they continued to play good football and took some excellent scores to complete a fine win. Mark Bogue (2), Cillian Barkey (2) and Kieran Shields (3) led the way in the scoring stakes for Clogher in the second period.

Derrytresk showed once again that they are a difficult side to beat at home as they accounted for Aghaloo winning by four on a score line of 0-12 to 0-8. Tiernan Donnelly scored all but one of his team’s scores with Gary O’Gorman getting the other Aghaloo point.

Brocagh made the journey to Killyman and they came away with a three point win after trailing by four at halftime. James McKiver got the all important goal for the Emmetts in the closing stages on a day when Michael Hughes, Ciaran Donnelly and Sean McFaul hit nine points between them. Mickey Donnelly top scored for the hosts with four points while Caolan Morgan weighed in with three.
