The four matches in Division Three this afternoon saw wins for Loughmacrory, Glenelly and Castlederg and a draw between Kileeshil and Killyman. Loughmacrory retain their 100% record with four wins from four starts but considering they were the favourites to do well in this league that should come as no surprise. The real surprise is the form of Castlederg that sees them with three wins from three starts and second in the league.

The first half of this parish derby was a fairly even affair. Dregish had the better of the possession for the first ten minutes, but a succession of wides meant that the scores were level at two points each, with Mark Corry responsible for the Derg scores. The visitors added on another point before Sean Harper flicked a long ball to the net to put the home team into a lead that they never lost for the remainder of the game. Two more points from Harper plus one from Mark Corry left the home team 1-5 to 0-4 ahead at half-time. After half time the Derg team really pushed on with Steafan Gallen hitting three points, Sean Meehan scoring 1-1 and Mark Corry adding two final points to leave the score 2-11 to 0-7. This was an excellent team performance from the Derg men , although the number of wides will cause their management some worries. Chris Maguire was outstanding at full back, Sean Meehan played himself to a standstill at midfield, and Mark Corry, Sean Harper and Cahal Logue caused the Dregish defence endless problems throughout the game.

Loughmacrory overcame a resilient Drumragh team 0-16 to 0-4 at home today to maintain their fine start to the season. Once again Ronan Ward led the way with 0-7 six of which were free kicks. Enda Ward, John Gallagher, Niall Grimes, Stephen Donaghy, Kevin Collins and Daryll Kelly hit a point apiece while Brendan Donaghy knocked over three free kicks to ensure that the loch’s good start continues. Meanwhile Kileeshil must have felt they were on their way to another two points as they led Killyman 0-11 to 0-8 with 65 minutes on the clock. However a smash and grab goal from Enda Mc Gahan ensured the points were shared. Former county man Kevin Hughes scored 0-4 for his side while Shane Mallon (0-3), Gary Reilly(0-2) and Packie O’Neill also found the target.

Glenelly made the short journey to Drumquin and both sides produced some fine football in a high scoring game that saw the visitors win narrowly 2-12 to 1-14. Both sides began brightly and at the break Glenelly held a two point lead 1-8 to 1-6. Cathal Sheerin hit the net for Glenelly in the first half while Fintan Mc Philomey bagged one for Drumquin. The second half was just as close but it was Seamus Harkin’s goal which ultimately proved the difference between the sides in the end as Glenelly held on to win 2-12 to 1-14.
