Fintona took on Glenelly this afternoon in a game that was expected to be close and compelling. However it turned out to be one way traffic for the Pearses as they cruised to a 5-10 to 0-4 win. The game was over as a contest by half time with the visitors leading 3-8 to 0-1. Goals from Cillian Mc Cann, Benny Mc Carney and Aaron Mc Carney from the penalty spot put them in an unassailable position. Niall Mellon, Benny Mc Carney and Aaron Mc Carney were among the point scorers for the winners. Fintona continued to dominate the game in the second half with goals from Niall Mellon and Aaron Mc Carney and even though they had been reduced to fourteen men before half time they eased to a twenty one point win. Glenelly’s scorers on a day they might rather forget were Ronan O’Kane, Brian Conway and Seamus Harkin.

Table toppers Loughmacrory were made to fight all the way by a game Aghaloo side this evening but held on to win by the narrowest of margins 2-12 to 0-17. Indeed it took a great save from Ryan Keenan to deny Aghaloo a match winning goal right at the death. Ronan Ward and Niall Grimes were the scorers in chief for the Loch and this win could prove crucial as the season progresses. Aghaloo had led by three at the break 0-11 to 0-8 but Loch’s two second half goals proved crucial and the league favourites held out to win by a single point and maintain their unbeaten start to the season. Tiernan Donnelly, Cathal Cuddy and Ruairi Mc Glone scored 0-12 between them for Aghaloo.

Killyman were also narrow winners this evening defeating Owen Roes 2-11 to 1-12 with Caolan Morgan’s late late goal deciding the outcome of the game. Morgan had bagged one in the first half too as the home side reached the break leading 1-8 to 0-6. However Owen Roes battled back bravely in the second half only to be denied by Morgan’s three pointer.

Drumquin made hard work of their evening clash with Errigal Thirds. With Eamon Teague (0-3), Barry Glackin (0-2) and Ryan Mc Callion (0-2) helping them to a 0-7 to 0-2 half time lead they looked home and hosed. However Michael Harte helped inspire his side to a fine second half revival that saw the sides level mid way through the second half at eight points apiece. However the Wolfe Tones kicked on and added four points from Barry Gormley, Ryan Mc Callion and Eamon Teague to ensure the points travelled to Drumquin.
