Division 3 Wrap Up
Sunday 15.05.2011

After Derrytresk and Killeeshil maintained their 100% record last night there was lots of jockeying for position among the remaining teams in Division Three. Drumquin travelled to Dungannon hoping to get the same sort of luck Drumragh enjoyed there last week. The Wolfe Tones led 0-6 to 0-2 at the break with five of their points coming from Eamon Teague. Dungannon had the ideal start to the second half with a goal from John Loughran and restricted Drumquin to just two points in the second half. The game was very much in the balance until late scores from Declan Treanor and Adam Mallon ensured victory for The Clarkes.
Fintona lost to Aghaloo today in a game where goal opportunities were the order of the day. The home side failed to make the most of theirs while the visitors took all of the three chances they created. Fintona also had the misfortune of a missed first half penalty but Brian Mc Kenna with two goals for Aghaloo ensured his side led at half time 2-3 to 0-6. Fintona started the second half well and hit the first four scores of the half with Sean Connolly and Aidan Quinn leading the charge. Aghaloo keeper Chris Dynes eased the pressure on his side with a converted forty five into the wind and a late Kevin O’Gorman goal sealed another win for Aghaloo.
Glenelly had one point to spare over Clogher after what was a hard fought game in Plumbridge this afternoon. As in many other games today the wind played a role and Glenelly found themselves 5 points to 2 down at half time with Kevin Mc Cullagh getting both scores for the home side. Wind assisted in the second half Glenelly scored seven points in a row with Kevin Mc Cullagh and Seamus Harkin getting three points apiece. Clogher continued to battle gamely and it took two late points from Mc Cullagh and Kevin Nicholas to ensure victory for the home side on a score of Glenelly 0-11, Clogher 1-7.
Errigal Ciaran Thirds travelled to Castlederg and came away with a 1-13 to 0-8 victory with substitute Peter Loughran getting their goal and Damian McDermott and Michael Harte getting a number of points each. Brackaville edged the verdict away to Beragh with Gary Ferguson getting the only goal of the game for the visitors, Eddie Molloy top scoring for the Red Knights. Owen Roes got their first point of the season when they drew 0-10 to 1-7 with Dregish. Jonathan Doherty got the Dregish goal with Mark Kelly getting half of the Leckpatrick men’s tally. Brocagh are still unbeaten after winning 0-9 to 0-6 away to Drumragh. Kieran Donnelly and Colm McFall were among the Emmetts scorers with Paul Maguire and Martin Taggart registering for the Sarsfields.
